i just happened to be home at 4 o'clock last friday for
oprah's favorite things.
i couldn't contain my reaction as she kept unwrapping and
giving
things away.
even though i {obviously} didn't receive any of it,
my serotonin levels soared and
started me cryin' from the rush of
joy
i did receive.
a spiritual paradox ::
hold on to nothing
give
and receive everything
i am
new {again}to this concept and heart-moved to practice it.
understand friends,
i am not declaring that i'm gonna give away my hopes, dreams, apartment, my cowboy boots, or my next paycheck.
i am moved to shift my energy / perspective/ behavior
can we contemplate together?
and give up
HoLDiNG
CluTChing
sQUeeZing
our stuff
so TIGHTly
let's give ourselves
a break from
waNTing so desperating
to HAve what we wAnt.
instead
let's give something
{thAt we, perhaps, WANT}
away
a way to GIVE :: i found http://www.oxfamamericaunwrapped.com/home.php {click to visit}

what goes, comes back. come back.

If we stop and think about those without even their basic needs it may be easier to give...You have inspired many here. Bless you
Spiritual giving never impoverishes the soul. Service to others is a reflection of our own joy and our love for all mankind.
i give you my love. miss you
anonymous, ditto.
grandpa, i love reading your blog! thanks for stopping by.
Grandpa's right...we get so hung up in the stuff we've got that we don't look around us. Giving frees up the soul. Maybe that's the problem, a soul that can expand threatens small heaarts and pea brains.
kittie, your awesome! and funny!
